The last couple of weeks I talked about why we are trying to be more clean and touched on some of the companies we have found and now love that are clean(er).  This week I want dive a little deeper into these companies and highlight some of the products we use on a regular basis.

Young Living - this is the company that started it all.  I chose to use Young Living because of their Seed to Seal promise.  Basically, they can follow their oils from the seed and soil it's planted in all the way through until the bottle is sealed.  This is what initially sold me on the company, but as I've learned more and more about company I now love everything about it.  YL is not just essential oils.  They have essential oil infused products for every room of the home, and for just about every personal product you'd need as well.  There are so many oils we use that I can't even begin to name them all.  I am just starting to dabble into the supplements, but use NingXia Red, Super B, Super C, and MightyPro regularly.  Household product wise, I do a lot of diy using both straight essential oils and oil infused products.  I like to use their Shower Base Gel, KidScents Shampoo and KidScents Bath Gel as bases for my own shampoos and bath gels.  We also use several of their soap bars.  I clean my entire house with the Thieves Household Cleaner, adding vinegar or baking soda as needed for tough stains.  The dish soap and laundry soap are staples in our house too.

Oberweis - technically we actually started using Oberweis before we started with Young Living, but it didn't start me on the whole clean living journey.  For some reason I understood the need to get rid of hormones in my daughter's milk, but nothing else.  I liked Oberweis for a couple of reasons.  First, they are local, they started in Aurora, IL and we live about 40 miles east of there.  Second, they deliver - at the time (and still today) that was huge, my daughter was still a toddler and went through milk like crazy so having it delivered and not having to run out to the store was huge for me.  Third, they reuse their glass bottles.  I loved that they were not only respecting the health of their consumers but also the planet by reusing glass bottles instead of everything being in single use plastic.  And lastly, I love that they partner with small local farms that treat their cows humanely.

WildTree - This company was new to me.  A friend of mine from college introduced me to WildTree in September 2020.  I had never heard of them before, but the more I researched I liked what I saw.  All of their products are allergen free (though the specific allergen varies by product) and everything is organic.  That is what drew me to the company and since then I have gotten rid of all of my old spices (to be honest, most were long expired and needed to go anyway) and replaced most with WildTree.  My favorites are the Garlic and Herb Blend, Italian Salad Dressing, and the Absolutely Onion Blend.

These are the main companies I get all of my products from.  That does not mean everything comes from these three companies.  I still get the majority of my groceries at Walmart or Meijer.  I'm so happy to see these stores expanding their organic and clean product selections.

Next week, I'm going to write more about some specific products we use.  What are your favorite clean products/companies?
